Words Conjured into Being: revolutions of the mind

revolutions of the mind

by warren jones

the age of information

is getting

very

very

old

the scene

on the street

and

in the stores

and

in the schools

and

in the homes

and

in the fields

and

in the minds

and

in the souls

has become

unhinged

dangling

like ripe

and heavy

winter avocados

overburdening

the thin

branches

of a

young

unharried tree

the age of reason

is absurd

so wed

to the hyperbolic

rules of explanation

that clarity

for humanity

is going extinct

the age of power

is unraveling

right

before

our eyes

it turns out

the the tensile strength

of our connections

is greater

than

once

known

how do i cleave

to any thought

to anything

or anywhere

or anyone

in this

time

of rapid change

tomorrow’s

weather

is still unknown

lift me

pull me up

drag me

from these

icy waters

and hold me

my friend

i’m too tired

to swim

ashore

alone
