The City of Davis is looking for volunteers to serve as members of the following commissions:
- Bicycle Advisory (3 vacancies)
- Business & Economic Development (1 vacancy)
- Civic Arts (2 vacancies)
- Historical Resources Management (1-2 vacancies)
- Human Relations (1 vacancy)
- Natural Resources (2 vacancies)
- Personnel Board (1 vacancy)
- Planning (1 vacancy)
- Safety & Parking Advisory (2-3 vacancies)
- Social Services (1 vacancy)
- Tree (1 vacancy)
By serving on a city commission, you can participate in local government and help plan the future ofDavis. Commissions serve as a conduit for citizen input – a way of gathering, analyzing and recommending options to the City Council. Commissions provide an important avenue for determining the community’s feelings about various issues and extending the reach of the democratic process.
If you are interested in serving on a commission and are a resident of Davis, visit the city’s website. Application deadline is Friday October 7, 2011, however, because vacancies occur throughout the year, applications are accepted on a continuous basis.
