This Week in Your Government

Monday, July 18th – Friday, July 22nd

Greetings and salutations, my fellow Davisites.  Summer is here, love is in the air and my professional responsibilities have hampered my ability to ensure that the Davis Voice is choc full of all the public policy, cultural and social commentary that you’ve come to expect.  For that, I apologize.

Want to help with some content creation? Jot down 300-400 words about your experience with the City’s failed experiment with chip seal, regale us with your epic vacation stories, liveblog a City Commission meeting, or just spout off about whatever you think your fellow citizens need to hear about our fair community.

All you have to do is send me an email (better yet, include an image!) at kemblepope(at)gmail(dot)com

NOTE: As August approaches, be aware that most elected and appointed bodies in the city and county tend to disdain meeting with one another, unless that meeting involves a beach or bbq grill, until they joyously reunite in September.

7:00 pm – CITY – Social Services Commission

Tuesday, 19 July 2011

Take the day off, there are no public meetings scheduled.

Wednesday, 20 July 2011

Another day without meetings.  Since I’d prefer you keep your mind active, how about reading up on the activities of the Yolo County Redistricting Advisory Committee?

Thursday, 21 July 2011

7:00 pm – CITY – Recreation and Parks Commission

Kemble K. Pope chooses to be a downtown Davisite and is proud to have been born a 6th generation Texan. He likes to garden, play with his huge dog in the great outdoors and say, "No... maybe... ok, but just a little" to folks who ask him to volunteer.
