This Week in Your Government

Monday, April 25 – April 29, 2011

Your City Needs YOU!

By serving on a city commission, you can participate in local government and help plan the future of Davis. Commissions serve as a conduit for citizen input – a way of gathering, analyzing and recommending options to the City Council. Commissions provide an important avenue for determining the community’s feelings about various issues and extending the reach of the democratic process.  The City of Davis is looking for volunteers to serve as members of the following commissions:

  • Bicycle Advisory (1 regular vacancy)
  • Business & Economic Development (1 regular vacancy)
  • Civic Arts (1 alternate vacancy)
  • Human Relations (1 alternate vacancy)
  • Natural Resources (1 regular vacancy)
  • Personnel Board (1 regular vacancy)
  • Recreation & Park (1 alternate vacancy)
  • Safety & Parking Advisory (1 regular & 1 alternate vacancy)
  • Social Services (1 regular vacancy)
  • Senior Citizens (1 alternate vacancy)
  • Telecommunications (1 alternate vacancy)
  • Tree (2 regular vacancies)

If you are interested in serving on a commission and are a resident of Davis, visit the City of Davis website for more information.
