This Week in Your Government

Monday, January 31 – Friday, February 4, 2011

Hard on the heels of President Obama’s State of the Union address last week, Governor Jerry Brown offers the 2011 State of the State address on Monday.  The speech takes place at 5:00 pm in the Assembly Chambers of the State Capitol.  Watch it live here.

Meanwhile, the Legislature continues to grapple with the Governor’s budget proposals.  For a full schedule of hearings, see the Assembly Daily File and the Senate Daily File.

Congressman Mike Thompson is in town this week, visiting Da Vinci Charter Academy High School on Tuesday at 1:00 pm, after first dropping by the County Board of Supervisors.

Oooh, yay, Mike Thompson at Da Vinci, what a great combination. I’ve always wanted to meet our Congressman, might just have to venture out and shake his hand. Thanks for the heads-up Susan!
