This Scary Weekend in the People’s Republic

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  It’s goofy, it’s fun, it’s unique…  And who doesn’t enjoy getting scared every once in a while?  I think it’s probably healthy.

There is a lot of spook-tacular right and relevant culture for this weekend…  Nevermind that rain and get thee outside for a night of thrills, chills and fun!

Davis has never been so scary… or silly.  Follow Alvin Remmers around town on a ghoulish expedition in search of costumed shenanigans.   Sinister doings emanate from downtown eateries.  Watch zombies descend in mass upon Chipotle!  Costumed ladies do the monster mash – it was a graveyard smash – at The Graduate.  Click on the video box and it will play right there in your screen, that’s what the technocrats call “embedded”.

Happy Halloween!!

FARM’s Halloween Birthday Party [COMMUNITY + PARTY]

Future Action Reclamation Mob (FARM)

K St (between E 8th and Dartmouth Place)

12-5pm

FREE

While the ideas behind FARM are pretty revolutionary, it doesn’t mean they can’t have a little fun too!  Come check out “the most edible front yard on K St” and celebrate a year of making public spaces beautiful and productive.  There are TONS of activities today, including live music, chicken races, workshops/demos, and a big costumed parade!  What fun!!

Halloween Concert [MUSIC + GIVE]

RockBand University

Vet’s Memorial Theatre

2pm (doors), 2:30 (show)

$5

While Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, my least favorite part about it (as a kid) was WAITING to get out there and Trick-or-Treat!  Well, don those costumes a little early and get yourselves out there because RockBand U’s second annual Halloween concert will provide all the entertainment you could want for those in-between hours.  Proceeds go to Davis School Arts Foundation, so you can feel great as you ROCK ON!
