This Weekend in the People’s Republic

Last night was my friend’s birthday.  Or rather, the whole day was her birthday, but we celebrated it that night.  There were about ten of us, all graduated the same year at Berkeley High and all in very different tracks of life in this snapshot of an evening.  In addition to these present differences, most of us hadn’t really known of each other’s existence way back in the day.

You might roll your eyes at my hyperbole, but for how much growth we’ve all gone through, the past four years seems like at least an eon.

In any case, despite the potential energy for awkward being substantially higher than usual, the evening went surprisingly smoothly!  Great times were had all around.  Even if I didn’t get my frozen yogurt fix.

Meeting up with old classmates has me in nostalgia-mode.  Knowing that I had this blog entry to write, I was reminded of my Livejournal account.  My old high school ramblings have been lost (thank goodness, some of it was embarrassing!), but I remember one little meme that I did once upon a time.  Indulging in that desire to be heard, even by the faceless yet teeming void of cyberspace, is as satisfying now as it was then.

I’d like to see how you answer this, actually.  Why not make a comment?  Just copy+paste, erase my answers, fill in your own, and YOU can be a teen-aged blogger too!  Nothing to it!!
