This Weekend in the People’s Republic

Hey Davis!

How’s it going?

Good?  Great!

I must admit to having not much to talk about right now.

I started that huge work-out craze called p90x with a friend.  I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but it’s supposed to get you SHREDDED and IN THE BEST SHAPE OF YOUR LIFE in 90 days.  So far (day 7), I’ve gotten really sore!  So…  it must be kinda working, right?

In other news, there’s some great events this weekend—DEFINITELY get thee outside to check ‘em out!

Until next time!

Wine Tasting [DRINK + GIVE]

Davis Food Co-op

620 G St

6-8pm

$1/taste

Yay for wine tasting!  Yay for Davis Farm to School Connection!  Why not experience one and help out the other this evening?  For your pleasure tonight, a selection from Regal Wines!  (Why do I feel like Mr Wint when I say that? I assure you that there’s no flaming shish kabobs or Bombe Surprise on the menu this evening!)

Things that Fall from the Sky:  an evening of short plays [THEATRE]

Barnyard Theatre

The Old Barn 35125 on Road 31

8:30pm

$12 student, $16 general ($4 discount if purchased 24 hours in advance)

Tonight is opening night of this annual event that runs until July 31.  If you ask me, it seems like an awesome concept!  They develop their performances from the bottom-up, from scratch.  Their motto:  “Think Organic”.  Three plays, one location, check it out!

Move Your Body [DANCE]

Fiesta Dance N Fitness

915 3rd St

2pm

FREE

When I see the title to this event, all I can think is this song.  You don’t need the choreography or coordination of 90s boy bands, however—you just need yourself, your body and your energy.  This is a family-friendly event, just move to the beat of this motivational music (probably not of the variety mentioned in this description).

California State Fair [FUN + FAMILY]

Cal Expo Fairgrounds

1600 Exposition Blvd, Sacramento

M-Th 12-10pm, F-Su 10am-10pm (7/14-8/1)

Buy Tickets Here

Wowowowow!  Lookee here!!  California State Fair is BACK!  I’ve actually never gone…  I should remedy that this year, shouldn’t I?  In any case, you can find everything you want to plan your own trip here.  Have a blast!!
