This Weekend in the People’s Republic

Is anyone else weirded out by this weather?  It’s really hard to pull yourself out of bed in the morning when you’re expecting Davis summers and instead are getting San Franscisco springs.  Brrrr!

Speaking of summer, I just realized that this would be my last free summer.  Ever.  I’m going to need to shift my mental clock to fit that of the “normal” calendar and not school-administrative ones…  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said “last year” and meant a couple of months prior within the same calendar year…  That probably won’t fly in the grown-up world, will it?

Or, I suppose if I miss summers THAT much I can follow in my mother’s footsteps.  I’m reminded of an old, over-sized T-shirt she used to wear that had this sassy woman on the front saying “Three reasons why I teach:  June, July and August”.

Well, get thee outside and enjoy this cooler weather while you can, before the summer swelter begins beating down.  There’s plenty of right and relevant culture right here for the taking!

Learning about sustainability can be fun too!  This event is meant to bond the university campus with the greater Davis community over the common goal of “going green”.  There will be two stages with unobtrusive line-ups, so be ready for a nice, chill vibe.  There will also be a children’s craft booth (with recycled material)!  This looks like a lot of fun for the whole family… and the neighborhood!

Discussion

  1. Following my own investigation, thousands of people all over the world receive the loans from well known creditors. Therefore, there is good possibilities to get a auto loan in any country.
