This Week in YOUR Government

Monday, February 22 – Friday, February 26, 2010

It’s Coming!

The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States, and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years.  Census results help determine how federal funds will be spent for hospitals, schools, public works projects and emergency services.  The data collected also determines the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives.

2010 census forms – 10 questions that can be completed in 10 minutes – will hit mailboxes in March with the goal of having all forms returned by National Census Day on April 1st.  Though you cannot complete the census form online, you can check it out.  Stand Up, Be Counted!  Learn more at www.2010census.gov.
