Young Rockers Shake The Town

I’ve not had this much fun enjoying music (with ear plugs) in a long time.  The Rockband University, right here in Davis, is a group of kids that gave us a show of a lifetime.

Rockband University is for musicians from 10 – 18 years old. Musicians meet on certain dates to practice and then are assisted in the fine art of being a rock star. Graduation night is the final concert that is open to the public.

What surprised me most was the level of talent and enthusiasm – it blew me away. The Odd Fellows Hall was not only “sold out” (cover charge – oh yeah there was none) it was standing room only. Friends, parents, relatives and fans all turned out to not only support but to hear some rock played with gusto.

Rock University was formed by Mike Clements, Sandy Thai and Evan Daly. The joy of seeing these three at work with those young people made it obvious that it’s a work of love.
