Welcome, All ye Political Junkies
Hardened Political Veterans, Bored People (All Ages) Also Wanted
Thanks to Claire St. John of The Enterprise for luring you into our little corner of the Web.
A great, well rounded article was marred only by the picture of my bearded mug seated at the Delta of Venus while either expounding on some vital issue OR demonstrating the width of an unknown item.
One minor correction: I have not asked any current DJUSD Board members to write for the site (though I would welcome their contributions), but I have approached a former Board member.
This post, like most of our articles, has only the first few sentences on the main page. If you want more, click on the “Continue reading” link (aka “the jump”) to get the full story. Our very first post is reproduced after the jump.
We hope you enjoy the content, get involved and come back often. If you’d prefer a daily email, rather than furiously refreshing the page until we post something new (M-F only!), sign up in the field above left.
The New Kid in Town
Our community needs to be better engaged in an online dialogue. The newly launched Davis Voice is that vital and fair forum
Every year thousands of humans emigrate to The People’s Republic of Davis. Quickly, they come to learn that our idyllic burg is unlike most rural college towns. Supporting the compact urban form, ubiquitous bicycle paths, and thriving Farmers Market is an unusually active, engaged, loquacious, and divergently progressive citizenry.
So, enter another new kid in town: The Davis Voice. We’re going to lift away the thousand veils that obscure the beautiful machinery of this town. We hope to inform and entertain you with hard news, confirmed facts, insider stories and expert opinions.
To the main dish we’ll apply a liberal seasoning of nightlife happenings, cultural opportunities, Dalebrity (Davis/celebrity… get it? get it??) sightings, fervent pleas for sanity and a little bit of funny.
We look forward to hearing from you as we set forth on this venture. We encourage rational and civil discourse on this site, so if you’d like to comment, please take a couple of minutes to authenticate
yourself. Anonymous comments are not allowed. However, your TypePad registered screen name can hide your identity and we will protect your right to post under a pseudonym (aka “handle”). We will not protect libelous comments or ad hominem attacks.
Please send news tips, questions and Dalebrity Sightings to: tips@davisvoice.com
Once again, welcome to a new venture that honors civility, fairness and thoughtful dialogue: The Davis Voice.
